PDGC Crowned 3x3 Women's National Champions

This year the 3x3 Women's National Championship was more competitive than ever, PDGC came out on top and had some of the most exciting games of the summer. Led by Gerda Morkunaite, who we first saw last year at our tournament and was filled with potential. This year she was a highlight reel, crossovers, slashing, jump-shots, dimes, she can give you the business anyway that you want. S/O to Chanel Michaels the local Haringey product she is a certified baller with a great jump-shot and an arsenal of moves. S/O to Daiva Pabrezaite she is fundamentally sound inside, with a great feel for the basketball,l and was pretty much unstoppable down low. These three together were a force at the finals and as returning players to the tournament, it is always great to see players succeed where they had once failed.

With such a tough squad it was straight forward in the early stages of the tournament with a

9 - 4 win over 'Last Minute' followed by a 8 - 4 win over 'Tokyo2020' and then a 12 - 1 Quarter-Final win over 'Hit 3 Baby One More Time.' The semi's was a little tougher and then the final was intense. A close 5-4 win over 'No Mercy' which could have gone either way. However, PDGC held their nerve with some big shots to come away with a big win and to become the 3x3 Queens.

What makes this victory even sweeter is that this win catapults Chanel and Gerda to the #1 ranked 3x3 Women with British and Lithuanian nationalities respectively in the world.
